There really isn't a place on the web that offers neutral info on Nursing that's quick and easy to access. So I thought that I'd add a page of stuff that I've found useful as a nurse.
To start off I found that the Kaplan review book to be the best prep for the NCLEX. The CD allows you to set up tests that focus on your weaknesses. The book actually gives explanations for sometimes weird logic behind the correct answers. The questions tended to be harder than NCLEX actually was. Plus Kaplan and the people behind it are the test writers. Yeah listen to the people who make the test. If you want to buy it click on the picture.
Which leads me to where I buy my books. UC's bookstore is almost always overpriced. Used books at UC cost more than new books at Barnes and Noble. Crazy huh? If you spend over a 100 then there usually isn't a shipping charges. Last year I saved almost 300 buying brand new books. Remember to only buy reference books. For the rest use Ohiolink. (If you don't live in Ohio, its an intercollegiate library loan system. Awesome for those nursing theory classes. You will NEVER use that crap again.
I've found that having a quick reference sheet helps the night go better. Here is the original and the version I use at night. Feel free to change or enhance it. If you think of something else to add please e-mail it to me. Thanks
